We sell already seeded live rock! What is live rock? Well, it's not really alive when you first get it. It's usually manmade rock, specifically for aquarium use. Some have arches and so on to offer structure to the tank. Not only does this look great in a reef tank, but there are huge benefits to already seeded live rock as well. The nitrogen cycle in saltwater and freshwater, is extremely important. However, in saltwater there is even a bigger step and that is live rock. Live rock holds a ton of beneficial bacteria, on top of the beneficial bacteria that is in the filtration system. When first starting a tank, you can go through new tank syndrome, due to the lack of beneficial bacteria. When you use already seeded live rock, the bacteria has had time to grow onto the rock, which essentially means you can add fish right away without waiting a long period of time (you should still be using a bio booster, such as Fritz Turbostart or Dr. Tim's to ensure success).
